Honk Honk

We haven't seen any Mallards with babies yet, but these Canadian Geese sure are cute and not very afraid of us. They are the first we've seen but probably not the last!

Summer is on it's way

It's a great day to plant flowers and bask in the hot sun! Guests at Dogwood Acres are fishing, boating, swimming and relaxing on one of our most beautiful days this year! What more could you want?

Springtime in Missouri

Dogwoods and redbuds abound! The sun is out, the sky is blue and the crappie and bass are bitin' like crazy. So far, one of the best springs we've had.

Easter Feast

The table is set and ready for Easter dinner. Family and friends are about to arrive. Who could ask for more. Cheers!

No Foolin' - It was 84 degrees yesterday and heading that way today!! Our boat rentals start on April 1st and Weldon was out bright and early with a fishing boat to rent. Couldn't be a better day to go fishing on the Lake of the Ozarks.

New life for an old table

Just refinished a table that I bought at a garage sale in the
late 1980's for $20. It's been in cottage #5 for years but
but has never looked so pretty!

Congratulations to our friend Jim Dill for winning the FLW American Fishing Series Tournament on the Lake of the Ozarks last weekend with 15 bass totaling 43 pounds!! Get your fishing gear ready - there are no less than 22 fishing tournaments on The Lake this weekend.

Waiting for checkins

Charlie and Dani are waiting for their friend Orson to arrive. There is never a fee for your pet at Dogwood. We think that they are part of the family too!

The fish are biting!!

The water temp is about 38 degrees and the bass are said to be biting on suspending jerk bait or Carolina rigged lizards or worms, so come get um!

Monday Nerves

Everyone keep your fingers crossed - the water is being turned back on and we are just hoping that it only comes out where it's supposed to! We are nervous every year at this time but we are never disappointed. These cottages were built right and will be here for many years to come.

New beginning

Spring is the time for new beginnings and what better time to start blogging! All the cottages will be up and running this week, after those that have been hibernating all winter are gently nudged back to life. The yellow and purple crocuses are up in the front yard with their usual optimism that spring is here!
Today is the St. Patrick's boat parade on the lake and it's misty and cool, but that never stops the revelers. And what better excuse for a early morning green beer. Cheers!
